Space Prison Announced for PC and Consoles

Wooden Alien, a new Kraków-based game development studio, has announced its debut title, Space Prison, a dark sci-fi tactical brawler set in an intergalactic security prison. Check out the teaser trailer linked above for an early look at the game’s turn-based combat, prison cell upgrades, and alien enemies you’ll encounter.

Space Prison combines survival with tactics and social dynamics,” said Hubert Kubit, CEO at Wooden Alien and industry veteran who has worked on AAA titles including The Witcher 3 and Dying Light. The game’s unique social ladder system will give you the opportunity to earn the trust of various prisoners, forming alliances and facing enemies in a fight for survival, and, possibly, freedom. You can even join one of the prison’s gangs, such as Gravity Fist or Hypernova, becoming a gang boss to further your climb up the social ladder of the prison. Space Prison also features a diverse cast of characters, each with their own special abilities, weapons, and equipment.

In terms of combat, you’ll find yourself engaging in fast-paced, tactical turn-based brawls in an expressive 2D world and comic-styled environments. The galactic gang you choose to join will impact your play style, providing unique mechanics to utilise in combat. Crafting also contributes to your gameplay as you gather resources in unique ways to craft contraband like illegal tools and weapons to help you survive. And that’s not all. Intergalactic prison life comes with your very own rat companions, complete with cute red eyes and long-toothed faces. If you feed them snacks, they’ll follow and surely die for you no matter what. Plus, you can build them a house, which is one example of the ways you can customise your cell and make prison living a bit cosier.

Space Prison is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. You can add the game to your Steam wishlist now.

I think this looks really interesting!  Wonder if they'll use cigarettes for currency?!  Looking forward to seeing more of it!
