You Suck at Parking Preview

You Suck at Parking Preview

You Suck at Parking is a racing game unlike any that you have played before. Instead of crossing the finish line before your opponents, you are trying to park your vehicle inside a marked parking spot. The game has a cute art style and high-tempo soundtrack that fits great with the craziness of this title. When starting the game, you have various types of vehicles to choose from: a classic car, truck, mini-truck, or van. Other vehicles, like food trucks, are available in the store, but you will have to pay for them with real money.

Having to park a car doesn't sound that difficult, right? It's getting to the spaces that's the challenging part. These spots aren't always the most accessible; you may have to ramp up to a higher level or jump across huge gaps. If you try to take turns too fast, you will probably fly right off the course. If the sharp turns don't stop your run, braking definitely will. It is considered parking when you hit the brakes and come to a complete stop, so use the brakes sparingly. To add another level of difficulty, you can run out of petrol very quickly. In some courses, your tank is empty after a few seconds, so you must determine which route you can take to get to that elusive parking spot before it hits empty. Some tracks will have cans you can use to refill your tank if you can collect them in time. If the tank runs out and you still have time, you will move onto a different vehicle and have to start the run over again.

After a few runs, you will have numerous vehicles stranded around the course to get in your way. If you crash into any of them and move them out of their parking space, you will have to park at that spot again. Once you run out of time, your run is complete; new cars will continue to spawn until the clock hits zero, then the game will show your stats. This summary tells you how long it took to park at all the spots on the course. The game will post your score online to compare to other players worldwide and with any of your console friends. If you couldn't make it to all the spots in your run, it will just state that you didn't complete the mission.

The Career mode has you driving around the overworld, where you will discover landmarks, each having multiple courses with a list of objectives to complete. If you successfully finish the tasks, you will earn hearts. You can use these hearts to unlock other landmarks on the overworld map. When you select the track you want to challenge, you can inspect the track and see an overview of the course, the hazards along the way, and the location of the parking spots. Most levels have more than one spot to park, so you will have to use numerous vehicles to hit them all.

You Suck at Parking has an Online Mode that supports up to eight players, where everyone is racing to be the first to get to the parking spot. This title is a high-speed, hectic, and crazy racing type of game, especially while you play multiplayer and smash into other players; it gets so chaotic! It turns into a demolition derby! I guarantee there will be a lot of yelling and screaming, especially when you race against your friends. I recommend heading to the Steam page for You Suck at Parking and downloading the demo to try out the game yourself. It's fast-paced, challenging, and very different from your usual racing game, so it's worth checking out. I can't wait to play more and discover all the other hazards waiting to destroy my vehicles!
